Only In Utah

I got a mailer from the Pioneer Theather Company today. PTC is Utah's semi-professional theater on the University of Utah campus. The mailer was pitching their current show Cyrano de Bergerac. Included on the first page of the five page oversided mailer was the following:

CONTENT ADVISORY

Language: Cyrano is written in verse. There is no strong language in the play except for a few exlamatory oaths (e.g. "My God!" "Good God!" and so forth). There are a few coarse or ribald expressions.

Smoking/Drinking: There is much driking. A pipe might be smoked.

Sex: None.

Violence: There are several scenes of theatrically staged sword play, resulting in several deaths. The violence is neither graphic nor excessive.

Sufficient would have been the last one:

For Which Audiences: Cyrano is one of the great epic romances for the stage. It is suitable for all audiences, including children 10 and up. Children aged 5 - 10 might not understand it.

If you are that uptight about theater, stay home.
