A headline from the Washington Post today:
Congressional Oversight of Intelligence Criticized
Does that strike anyone else as rather non sequitur? Can you even use congress and intelligence in the same sentence? There's got to be some metaphor that applies here. The fox guarding the chickens? No. That doesn't quite work. Blind leading the blind? Nope. Hmmmm... I'll have to think more about that. Reminds me of a joke once told by the commedian Gallagher:
Con is the opposite of pro. Therefore, congress must be the opposite of progress.
